FreshLatino represents a selection of
fourteen Iberoamerican architectural offices which are appropriating
the format of video-installation in order to communicate their
creations: some are minimal buildings; others make the transition
between contemporary art, performance and architecture or propose
a fresh modus operandi when exploring the complexity of the contemporary
city.
FreshLatino is conceived as documentary platform that enables
nexuses from both sides of the Atlantic, re-drawing a new cultural
geography. The young architects are tackling the city and the
research of the urban structure in a different way, steering new
strategies of interaction, a new "approach".
From here one can structure a network for exchange, information
and cooperation in order to develop alternative proposals focused
on understanding and envisagement of Latin-American territory,
Spain and Portugal, based on the strategic use of new technologies,
the exploitation of emergent systems. Further, it takes into account
biodiversity and definition of a transversal way of thinking that
seeks to materialize Iberoamerican contemporary identity.
If we accept the idea that America was the laboratory of modern
movement in an uneven and fragmented form, which is today the
role of Iberoamerica in the landscape of emergent architecture
and contemporary thinking?
